Your contribution may qualify for a City rebate.

Toronto’s municipal contribution rebate program allows eligible individuals who give more than $25 to participating City Councillor campaigns to receive a portion of their eligible contributions back. It is a municipal rebate—not a charitable tax receipt.

How the rebate works

The rebate is calculated from your total eligible contributions to all participating campaigns.

50% of the amount over $300, plus $225
Over $1,000
33⅓% of the amount over $1,000, plus $575

Important contribution information

  • Only monetary contributions that comply with the Municipal Elections Act are eligible; corporations and trade unions cannot contribute.
  • You may contribute a maximum of $1,200 to Mike Colle’s City Councillor campaign.
  • For contributions over $100, contributor names and addresses are posted by the City of Toronto.
  • After receiving an official Contribution Rebate Receipt & Application Form from the campaign, contributors must claim their rebate online or by mail by 4:30 p.m. on December 30, 2027. Rebate payments are expected in early 2028.
